Tuesday Rites Set For Platte Pioneer Resident by Republic News Service Platte- Funeral services for Mrs. Minnie Meyerink, 78, will be held at the Christian Reformed Church in Platte Tuesday at 2 p.m. The Rev. Henry Peterson will officiate and burial will be in the Platte Cemetery. Mrs. Meyerink, a long time resident of Platte, died Saturday at the home of her daughter, Mrs. John Pranger. She was born in the Netherlands and came to this vicinity with her parents as a child. Surviving the deceased are her widower; nine children, Jake of Grand Rapids, Mich.; Joh of Milwaukee; Harm of Lake Grove, Ore.; Mrs. Ben Bergeson of Canton; Henry of Mason City, iowa' Mrs. John Pranger, Mrs. Floyd Rasmussen, Mrs. gary Westerhuis and Joe of Platte. One daughter preceeded her mother in death. She is also survived by four brothers, Albert Delange of New Holland; Henry Delange of Harrison; Jacob Delange of Sioux Falls and Cornelius of Linden, Wash.; two sisters, Mrs. janis Sluiter of Grand Rapids and Mrs. Henry Holleman of Linden, Wash.' 28 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren.
**I am not a direct descendant. Her son John married a aunt of mine who was married to my great uncle. Her name was Elaine (Cormier) Wenzel. I do have pics of John and fondly remember him from when I was a child.
