P.S. to Brenda.... ooops made a type goof ren birth year re James Delaplaine (oldest son of James & Hanna) should read 1695. Also this Article found in "The Cox in America" is most interesting: The following is from Philadelphia Friends' Records: "At our Mo. Meeting held ye 26/1st mo.(Mar.)1728. Whereas James De La Plaine and Elizabeth Shomaker having Declared their intentions of marriage with Each Other before Two Mo:Meetings Enquiry being made of Persons appointed & found Clear from all other on Ye account of Marriage, Are left to accomplish Ye same in Good Order. Ye 15th of Ye 1st mo. 1728."
BACK THEN THEY USED THE "OLD STYLE" JULIAN CALENDER when MARCH WAS THE 1ST MO.of the year. The GREGORIAN CALANDER didn't become into effect until 1852 -then January became 1st Month.
