Hi Everyone,I've posted information previously about my Döll/Doell/Dell family from Nieder Wildungen in Hesse. My recently found Döll cousin in Germany has been able to locate more Churchbook information .I am synopsizing it here - hopefully it may help one of you.
Jacob Döll was a soldier in Graf Döhnhoff'schen Regiment - it is not positive whether this soldier was the earliest Döll in Homberg an der Efze. And different regiments and troops were in and out of Homberg.
However, Jacob Döll, soldier, fathered three illegimate children with three different mothers which are recorded in the Churchbook Anna Margarethe Döll born October 18, 1718 in Homberg an der Efze Eva Chrita Döll born March 22, 1720 Johann Ludwig Döll born October 11, 1721
The next entries make it a bit confusing to known if the Jacob Döll is the same person as the Soldier -
Jacob Döll, Maler und Schreiner, born about 1695 (but not in Homberg), died November 24, 1780 in Homberg + married Anna Barbara Döll (maiden name unknown) who was born in 1675, also not in Homberg.Anna Barbara died in 1755 at the age of 80 Jacob Döll married again as a widower + Anna Margarethe Schade, daughter of Georg Schade - Anna Margarethe was born May 31, 1723 and confirmed in 1737, Anna died December 13, 1807 in Homberg an der Efze. This couple had the following children - Ludwig Döll born February 1759, died July 5, 1759 Georg Wilhelm Döll born January 10, 1761, died January 22, 1761 Maria Magdalena Döll born January 1, 1763, died January 8, 1763 Johann Jacob Döll born January 14, 1766, died June 20, 1807 (in Nieder Wildungen)
Johann Jacob Döll married Catharina Elisabeth Junkermann, daughter of Lohgerbermeister, Conrad Junkermann and his wife Anna Margarethe born Stracke in Niederwildungen on February 13, 1787.They were the parents of the Döll children I had posted previously (Moritz, etc.)
The name Döll / Dolle / Doelle was fairly widespread in this area of Hesse - the spellings Dell and Dill were not.
Hope this helps someone - and if you suspect you might be tied into this line, feel free to respond or e-mail me (I like to keep things on the boards, though so more people have the information).Vicki
