This is a partial will of Eleanor Deloach that was attached to a will I had requested. I will summarize. In the name of God Amen the thirty first of Sept. 1748 I Eleanore Deloach widow of Brunswick Co. Virginia being in perfect mind etc. I will get to the bequest's. Imprimis I give and bequeath a young negro girl child unto my grand daughter Celia Philips and the said negro being called Hagor and if the said Celia Philips should die without heir I give the said negro unto her sister Anne Hill and her heirs forever. Item I give and bequeath unto my son Francis Deloach one negro wench named to wit, Isabell and the said negro wench to him and his heirs forever. Item I give and bequeath unto my grandson Thomas Deloach, son of Francis Deloach a negro girl child named to wit Phillis and the said negro girl to him and his heirs forever Item I give and bequeath unto my daughter Anne Hill wife of William Hill my Rideing Horse named Prince and my side Saddle-- that's all I have. If you need a complete copy send to Brunswick County Clerk of Court P.O. Box 399 Lawrenceville, Va. 23868-0399. Give them the date of the will and a self addressed envelope, add a couple extra stamps on it, and they will bill you for the copies. They sent me the copies and then billed for two dollars and fifty cents. Very reasonable, and very quick. The Christie family who I am researching are in Edgefield SC in 1790. The Deloach family is also listed in the earlier census in Edgefield. These families moved from Virginia to South Carolina. I hope this helps someone.
