I’ve read some of your DeLoach postings on GenForum with lots of interest. My mother was Ruby Catherine DeLoach that was born in Tattnall County, GA on Jan 10, 1910 to Shelton I DeLoach (Son of Henry Hardy DeLoach). The family moved to Liberty County in abt 1913 into an area that later became Long County in 1920.Ruby & my father Wallace Leroy Swindell was married in 1932 in Long County, GA.I have researched lots of our DeLoach and Swindell ancestors in the areas of Tattnall, Liberty, and Long County, GA. Your comments on Fort Stewart are true, but there is a listing of all old known Cemeteries and most names of those buried their in a 1998 Booklet “Fort Stewart Cemeteries, Fort Stewart, Georgia” Compiled and published by Wyman E. May, P.O. Box 523, Hinesville, GA 31316.Of the 57 Cemeteries listed in Bryan, Evans, liberty, Long, and Tattnall Counties areas, most all can be visited by arrangements made by Officials at Fort Stewart, GA.Please visit: < www.stewart.army.mil > Check on the sitemap, when displayed highlight “About Fort Stewart” Cemetery Information will appear as the 1st item in the drop-down listing.
The Cemeteries on Fort Stewart are maintained by the US Army at Fort Stewart and in my opinion they do us a pretty good job.
My family line is: Michael DeLoach, William DeLoach Sr., William DeLoach Jr, Hardy 'Old Hardy' DeLoach Sr, John H. DeLoach, Hardy B. DeLoach, Henry Hardy DeLoach, Shelton Isaiah DeLoach, and Ruby Catherine DeLoach (my mother).
