James Demos Dies in Hospital Here
Funeral services will be conducted Friday afternoon at 2
o'clock from Champion's Funeral Home for James J. Demos,
74, who died Tuesday afternoon in Sheridan County Memorial
Hospital.
Elder E. E. Johnson will officiate for the services and burial
will be in the Sheridan Municipal Cemetery.
Mr. Demos was born April 14, 1887, in Greece, and lived in
Chicago before coming to Sheridan in 1902.He worked as an
interpreter for the railroad for a time and was then engaged in
the restaurant business until 1930.At that time he opened the
Sheridan Hatshop and operated it until about a year ago.
Mr. Demos was a member of the Seventh-Day Adventist
Church and the Sheridan Eagles Lodge.
He is survived by his wife, Violet; three children, Orin J.
Demos of Sacramento, Calif.; Dorothy Demos, also of Sacra-
mento, and Jane Demos of Sheridan; one brother and one
sister in Greece, and five Grandchildren.His wife was Violet
Jenkins before their marriage December 15, 1940, in Sheridan.
