In my midnight haze, I have come to a little conclusion.... here it is for you.
Robert DENBO b. 1777 who married 1797 Mary Ann CRAWFORD, had a son named Robert. He would be the brother to Joseph DENBO b. 1804 that married in 1825 to Cynthia BOOKER. It is very likely that Robert had a son named George W. DENBO as well?
However, my George W. DENBO appears to have been named after his maternal grandfather George BOOKER. The W. is a mystery to me. I think it stands for WINCHEL/L. Although it could be for WOODFIELD, OR WINDELL.
My greatgreatgrandfather George W. Denbo b. 15 April 1830 married to Mary HIGHFILL 2 December 1856. Mary was born 24 January 1832 and died 19 May 1887. Corydon, Indiana.
Listed below are the known siblings of Mary DENBO. Issue: Mary DENBO b. 9 November 1872 Amzi DENBO Ida C. DENBO Married a HURST
I would not rule Amzi out, although I am not sure what happened to him/her?
On much closer inspection I see that George W. Denbo b. 1830 also had a brother named Robert. There were 8 males that I can read clearly.
Children Of Joseph & Cynthia BOOKER DENBO:
George W. b. 1830 Robert Mary Denbo LOPP Jesse David Elizabeth Denbo WILLIAMS William Matilda Denbo GLENN John L. Joseph Henry L. Margaret
I better close this before it gets worse! I hope I haven't thoroughly confused you.
I will go over my 1850 Census and 1880 to see what I turn up. I will get back to you next month.
Regards, Linda PS this is the first time I saw Joe Kendall's post in this thread.
