Julia--The following is info thet I have on the Dendy's that moved to Montg. Co.,AL. It may be of help: In the late 1820’s and early 1830’s there was a large influx of settlers into the region south of Montgomery, Alabama. During that migration, Martha Winn Dendy wife of William Dendy (deceased) and all her chilren along with Thomas C. Dendy and his wife Elizabeth Cason and their faimly and at least three sons of Sarah Dendy and James Motes left Laurens Co., SC andmoved into an area roughlytwenty miles square some fifteen miles south of Montgomery. John N. Walker, son of Martha Dendy and Horatio Walker and first cousin of both Sylvanus Walker and his wife Matilda Dendy , who moved from JacksonCo., TN, had either alreadysettled in the area or shortly joined them. The unmarried children of Martha married in Montgomery and all but Martha and Manelta, who moved to LA, bought land close to each other (see charts below).

With the execption of Matilda and Sarah, who were married in Laurens C., SC, all the children were married in Montgomery Co., AL. Thomas and Martha probably moved to LA and all the others bought land located in Range 13 and Section 13 except Sylvanus who located in Section 14( Land Records-County Tract Book Montgomery MT-54)
