Soundex is the name given to the Index for the 1900 census.I copied this information from the microfilm over 20 years ago, and just dug it out of the box!At that time I was collecting everything I could find on the Denig surname. There's no need for you to look at the soundex again, now you want to look at the actual census report.
Try to locate a library in your area that has a genealogy department. They might have a microfilm copy of the 1900 census for Kenosha Co.If not, they can borrow a copy for you from another library - usually costs $4 or less per roll.Be sure to give them the volume number I quoted so they'll know exactly which microfilm you need.
Also look for a Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in your area. They should have what theycall a Family History Center (library) as part of their church. Here, too, you can do research on your family.Employees/volunteers will be glad to help you locate the research materials you need.
I'd love to hear whatever you lear about your Denigs.Maybe they are connected to my line. You can send me private email if you want: firstname.lastname@example.org
