Martin Denman - 1806-1872
I have posted a review of "History of the Fire-Lands," published in 1879 by WW Williams on the "Firelands History Website": http://firelands.wordpress.comhttp://firelands.wordpress.com.
Included in this book are biographies and portraits of Martin and Sally Ann (nee Washburn), who with settled in Townsend Township, Huron County, in the Firelands of Northwestern Ohio in 1833.
The Firelands, or Sufferers' Land, was set aside for "Sufferers" in Connecticut whose homes were burned by the British during the American Revolution. It includes present day Huron, Erie, Ottawa, and Ashland Counties in Ohio.
My post includes a short synopsis of "History of the Fire-Lands" and the Table of Contents with links to the free on-line book's histories, biographies and illustrations of the pioneers and their families.
I invite you to check out this interesting biography of Martin and Sally Ann Denman and other pioneers of the Firelands.
