Margaret Magalena Deslauriers was born on April 30, 1912 on a farm near Fulda, Minnesota to Joseph and Mary Reinart Nimerfroh. She grew up on the family farm and attended St. Gabriel’s School in Fulda. On September 15, 1931 she and Walter H. Deslauriers were married at St. Gabriel’s Church in Fulda. Following their marriage they farmed the Deslauriers family farm in Murray Twp. Murray County, near Currie.In 1962 they retired and moved to Tracy. Margaret worked at theTracy Nursing Home for 8 years. In 1968 they returned to Currie.Walter passed away on October 30, 1976. Margaret moved to the Southgate Apartments in 1977. In April 2006 Margaret became a resident of the Slayton Manor and passed away there on May 27, 2006 at the age of 94.She was a member of IHM Church in Currie. Margaret enjoyed her many friends at Southgate.
Survivors include two daughters and their spouses; Janet and GeorgeSanderson of Currie, MN and Judy and Patrick Donahue of Mount Carmel, IL; 10 grandchildren; 25 great grandchildren; and 11 great-great grandchildren.She is preceded in death by her husband, Walter, son, Dennis Deslauriers, and three brothers, Joseph, John, and Adolph Nimerfroh.
Funeral Services were held at IHM Church Currie, MN on Tuesday, May 30, 2006 at 10:30 AM with Fr. Robert Horihan officiating. The organist is Patty LeClarie. The song leader is Loann Hansen. The pallbearers are Cory Bomgaars, Rodney Bomgaars, Scott Bomgaars, Chad Olson, Derrick Platt, Chase Sanderson, and Ryan Tesch. The honorary pallbearers are Robbie Anderson, Misty Platt, Sheena Platt, Amber Olson Terri Jo Durkin and Kim Tesch. The lector is Sean Donahue. Interment is at Calvary Cemetery Currie, MN.
