I have looked at "The Certificate of Musters for Buckinghamshire in 1522", reprinted in 1973 by A.C. Chibnall, Royal
Commission on Historical Manuscripts. The following entries appear for DEVERYLL:
DEVERYLL John (of Swanbourne), page 116, village of North Marston, valor terr et tent - 16 shillings - 3.5 pence.
DEVERYLL John, page 197, village of Swanbourne, valor terr et tent - 2 pounds - 13 shillings - 4 pence, valor bonorum - 30 pounds.
DEVERYLL Robert, page 197, village of Swanbourne, valor bonorum - 1 pound.
DEVERYLL William, page 178, village of Hoggeston (Hogston), valor bonorum - 1 pound - 10 shillings.
The two John DEVERYLL entries are for the same person, an afluent man who in the year 1522 had rent from land "terr" and tennants "tent" from two villages.
Cheers...... Ben Whiting... a descendent of the DEVERILL family of Swanbourne.
