From my booklet I just created this year, the Dey Family Blueprint:
Many researchers have asked, what happened to Caty Ann? She lived in Allegany Co., NY. She appears in the estate records of her father (1834), and then there was no record. The forthcoming of the 1898 Family Tree on blueprint has answered the question. She married Moses White.
He was b. 23 Aug 1809, and d. 22 Aug 1879.The chart indicates that they had children:
1. William Carlos, who was unmarried, b. 21 Oct 1842, and d. 30 July 1870.
2. Mary Catherine 8 Jul 1846, m. Am(os?) James C(uber?) (or Culver?), no issue. Since the death dates are given, except that of Mary Catherine and her spouse, they were likely still living when the family tree was created, ca. 1898.
3. Florence Ann, b. May 1849, d. Aug. 1849.Florence is buried in the Short Tract Cemetery near Granger, Allegheny Co., NY.
The Dey blueprint indicates Caty Ann died 8 Jan 1850, but she was alive for the 1850 census that summer, and her cemetery stone "Katherine White" at Short Tract Cemetery, Allegheny Co., NY, which indicates that she died 8 Jan 1851 is probably correct. Caty Ann had no grandchildren, and her line ended. However, her husband, Moses, remarried, and migrated to Illinois, and he and his son, William Carlos White, are buried in Pine Mount Cemetery, Sandwhich, La Salle Co., Illinois. She was probably named in honor of her mother, but for practical reasons, not named Catherine due to the many ladies in her family with that name, and the confusion that probably already existed from that.
