Dickensheets comes from the German town of Dickenschied in Rhinlandpfaltz (established abt.1184) Dicken is a high place like a hill. Schied refers to water running off of something. Dicken schied is the hill from where the water flows.
Christofel Dickenschied came from Monzingen, Ger to the U.S. in 1723. He was married to Margaretha who was actually from Dickenschied. He is buried near Harmony, PA. We all came from him.
