I was overcome with all the information too, Marie.Fascinating data to me.Yes, the two Valley Blvds. mentioned are the same street.Valley is now primarily commercial with few houses on the boulevard.A railroad track runs beside it.We are indebted to Karla Everett of Bakersfield, California for all that extra information and newspaper articles. She is a whiz at finding things on the computer and always willing to share.Thank you for writing her your thanks.
You asked about 616 Valley Blvd., Puente, Alhambra (rural). All these numbers have changed since 1930.The City became La Puente instead of just Puente in abt. 1960.It was probably the first area named in Los Angeles County by the Spanish in 1769 when they were forced to build a bridge for their oxen over the San Jose Creek. The area has been known as La Puente ever since. For census information, most people seem to go to www.familysearch.org but I find the site difficult to navigate due to my computer ignorance.Perhaps you will have better luck.
If I find anything of interest on your interesting family I will be happy to notify you via genforum or personally. It is certainly a family to be proud of.
