In addition to the informaton that I posted in #131, I have the following documenting the confusion about the name of the wife of James Dieter.
Information from obit: Frankfort Times, Nov. 15, 1928, p. 10.
Cyrus Dieter was born in Lehigh Co., PA., a son of James and Leah (Fritz) Dieter and was married to Martha Elizabeth Peter.Note: My mother has a notation that James was called "Fritz" -- likely a nickname for someone with German origins.My mother said she spoke German in her home until she entered grade school.

Mr. Dieter was a son of James and Leah Dieter. He came to this state with his parents while quite young. Note: James Dieter and Lena Mack, his wife are buried in Fairhaven Cem., Mulberry, IN.Name on stone is Lena. b 10 Oct. 1828d13 Aug 1905

"Our subject's mother (Cyrus' mother) was known in her maidenhood as Lena Mack.
The 1850 Census has "Lena" as wife in household of Cyrus Dieter.
