Barney Britt was born in Tennesse around 1850 and died 12-2-1917. Cause of death recorded as Diabetes. When his wife died, he moved to Arkansas with his son Arch(b.1868) in the 1870's. Barney later married Mary A. and they had two sons and a daughter. Baxter, Lee, and Jenny. On December 15,1895,Arch married Hanah L Dihel. They lived at Bennetts Bayou in Baxter County, AR. Arch & Hanah had four children. Allen(b.10-8-1896 d.),Adam(b.11-5-1900 d.1982),Noah(b.4-1903 d.1977),and Mollie(b.1910 in Bakersville, Mo. d.1992 Jonesboro,AR). They all lived in and around the Mountain Home, AR area. Hanah's father was John Dihel who is believed to have ridden with the Quantrel's & Jessie James during the Civil War. John's father was Daniel, who was a physician that moved from Illinois. They were flathead Dutch. Hanah's mother was an indian. Mollie Britt married four times, the first Davis, Kibby, unknown,and the final was James Washington (McMelton) Wilson. By her first marriage she had one daughter, Wilma Davis. Second, a son,Neil Kibby,no children by the unknown marriage and she had a son Dean Gill(his father was killed by a team of mules just months before they were married). Jim & Mollie had eight children together: James Washington,Jr.,Jimmy Dee, Mary Lee, Melissa Louise, John, Archie Mack, Danny Ray, and Bruce Edward. Mollie was raied around Bennett's Bayou and Bakersville, Mo. Jim was raised on an Indian reservation in Oklahoma after his Mother, Melissa Jackson,McMelton married again to a Wilson.
