Johnnie H. Dishman, Jr., 59, VA/TN, obit; s/o John Dishman, Gray Elizabeth Kulin
Johnnie H. Dishman, Jr., 59, passed away Monday, April 26,
2010, at his home in Bristol, TN.
He was born July 25 1950, in Glade Spring, VA, and was a
son of the late John Dishman and Gray Elizabeth Kulin. He
served his country with the U.S. Army and the 25th
Infantry Division during the Vietnam War where he received
a Bronze Star and a Purple Heart for his efforts. He
always lived life to the fullest, was a good dad and a
great grandfather. He attended Harvest Worship Center in
Bristol.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by
daughter, Anita Dishman; and grandson, Paul Ryder Dishman.
Survivors are his sons, John Dishman, III and wife Monica
of Abingdon, VA, and Ruben Dishman and wife Donna of
Columbia, PA; wife, Elizabeth Dishman of Columbia, PA;
grandchildren, Megan Dishman, Alyssa Dishman, Luke Dishman,
Lance Levesque, Rosie Gilbert, Shanté Gilbert, Jaden
Dishman, and Justin Dishman; brother, Jerry Dishman and
wife Minta of Saltville, VA; sisters, Betty Cassell of
Glade Spring, VA, Wanda Lester and husband James 'Bubby'
of Glade Spring, VA, Debbie Dishman of Bristol, VA, Jo Ann
Hopkins and husband Jimmy of Bluff City, TN, and Mary Lynn
Sessor and husband David of Saltville, VA.
The family will receive friends at Farris Funeral Service
from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. Thursday, April 29, 2010.
Graveside services will be conducted at 1 p.m., Friday,
April 30, 2010, in Forest Hills Memory Gardens in Abingdon,
VA, with Rev. Barbara Farmer officiating. The family will
meet at Farris Funeral Service at 12:15 p.m., to go in
procession to the cemetery. Pallbearers will be Daniel
Dishman, Jeremiah Dishman, Michael Mark Kestner, Derrick
Sessor, Robbie Burke, and Jerod Sessor.
Military honors will be conducted by Highlands Fellowship
Veterans Honor Guard at the cemetery.
