Dear William, I am so delighted to hear from you. I have several letters your father wrote to my grandfather, Maurice B. Dix, and have long wondered what became of you and your family. I can understand that you might be reluctant to contact someone via an Internet query (I am somewhat cautious about it myself these days) but I would be happy to return the letters to you if you have any interest in them. Without publicly revealing too much, I offer these bits of family knowledge to help you believe I am a relative: Your grandparents and later your parents had a home on Jersey known as The Priory. Your father's middle initial was C. (was it Campbell?). Your grandmother, known as Doll, died in June 1968. My grandmother, Nan Dix, made this entry in her diary in 1968: “Peter, Bobbie, Charles and Bubbles came in as we arrived back at hotel.” That must have been your brother. Would be kind enough to contact me directly at DixCutler@netscape.net and let me know if you would like me to post the letters? I could also scan and e-mail them but it would take some time as there are several letters.
