Isabelle (Dittemore) Dobkins (1869-1942)
I stumbled onto her gravesite near the east side of the Moray Cemetery, a few miles southwest of Troy in Doniphan Co., KS. The tombstone next to hers says "DOBKINS, Lillie - Luie - Lois, 1897-1897". It looks like Isabelle was buried beside her triplet-children who died nearly at birth. Isabelle reportedly married a Joseph Dobkins on 11 Nov 1896 in St. Joseph, MO. The timing indicates that the triplets were her first-born Dobkins children. It appears that her husband Joseph was a son of Andrew J. and Sarah (Wilson) Dobkins, who were married 13 Jun 1866 in Buchanan Co., MO. Andrew apparently died and Sarah re-married to James Keeling. The 1880 Census of Wayne Twp. of Buchanan Co., MO. shows James Keeling with his wife Sarah, and two Son-in-laws named John (b.1866-MO.) and Joseph (b.1874-MO.) Dobkins.
I found a Doniphan Co., KS. newspaper article from 1915 stating that Mrs. Isabelle Dobkins had moved to Crescent, Oklahoma. There was no mention of her husband Joseph, and he may have died by 1915. It appears that whatever happened in Isabelle's later life, she chose to be buried beside her first-born Dobkins triplet-children. The Moray Cemetery is surrounded by nothing but farms, but is sizable and well-kept.
