Reference: "Abstracts of Virginia's NORTHERN NECK WARRANTS & SURVEYS–DUNMORE, SHENANDOAH, CULPEPER, PRINCE WILLIAM, FAUQUIER & STAFFORD COUNTIES" 1710 - 1790, Volume III; Compiled by Peggy Shomo Joyner.
The cited reference under DUNMORE COUNTY on Page 4 contains the following notation: "GEORGE COFFIELD, assignee (in 1774) of Edward Rian of August Co.; wart & survey in Rian's name; 28 Sept. 1753 - 29 Dec. 1753; 400 a. on NW side of Stoney Crk., ad'j John Dobekin - John Bayley. CC - Robert Weldon & Thos Dobekin. Surv. Robert Rutherford."
Was this Thomas Dobekin a son of John Dobikin, who was awarded a Northern Neck Land Grant in 1735/36 and died in 1743? Was he a brother to John Dobkins, who got title to his father's Land Grant in 1750? Or, was he another son of the John Dobkins that obtained title to the Land Grant?
I have no further information in my files that I can tie directly to that Thomas Dobekin. Does anyone have additional information for that individual?
I would appreciate any help or leads that I can get.
