I'm looking for info on Martha Banta who married William Viles/Voiles. I've received two different places/dates of birth: Missouri and Kentucky. They had a son, John Viles, who's listed as being born in 1824 in either TN or VA. I'm trying to straighten all of this out and would appreciate any help! Thanks!
William Voyles b October 26, 1797 Cabarrus, County North Carolina d December 18, 1870 Halfway, Polk County, Missouri m March 13, 1820 Vevey , Switzerland County, Indiana Martha Banta b abt 1802 Shelby County, Kentucky
Their son John Wesley Viles b March 20, 1833 Switzerland County, Indiana d January 14, 1912 Grove , Delaware County , Oklahoma b McLaughlin Cemetery, Delaware, Oklahoma m Amelia Catherine Mayfield
William who married Hannah is brother to my ancestor Thomas... I was just trying to place the William who married Barbara Troutman...I do know that this is not the same William who married Martha Banta..some people have him in their file as married twice and that's not right. William who married Martha Banta was only married to her.
The William who married Barbara Troutman was abt. 14 years older then William who married Martha. William who married Martha is also a son of Thomas Voiles.
the other William might be one Jacob's grandchildren, but I have not figured out who he belongs too.
We are also exploring the possibility that George who married Elizabeth Chamberlain is not a son of Thomas...There is a George who married Hannah Banta, she is Martha's cousin and they are both married Switzerland Co., Indiana Also George is in Decatur Co., by 1840 near Benjamin Voiles, and in 1820 William who married Martha are in Dearborn Co., near Benjamin Voiles..the part of Dearborn Co., that William and Martha was in later became part of Decatur Co.,...I am thinking that Benjamin, William and George are brother's and they all belong to Thomas Voiles son of Jacob. And not George who married Elizabeth Chamberlain..
I hope I have my facts stright off the top of my head.. I might have messed up on the years, but it's pretty close I believe.
