I recently purchased the subject undated RPPC (real photo postcard [not postally used]) identified on the back:
"Lillian & Opal Dodgin"
I found these two individuals listed in the 1930 Census data for Easley, Pickens Co., SC.Lillian, age 11, and Opal, age 10, resided with their mother, B. Lesa Loving, age 32, and their younger sister, Mary Dodgin, age 7, at 608 South Eighth Street.All four family members were born in NC to parents were were also born in NC.The mother was employed as a battery filler in a cotton mill.
I found the mother's death listed in the North Carolina Death Collection, 1908-2004, and the Social Security Death Index. Born 12 December 1897, she died a widow on 10 March 1976 in Brevard, Transylvania, NC.
According to a family tree, "Descendants of Thomas HENDERSON Jr.," posted on the Internet (prepared by Robert H. Henderson, Greer, SC), Bulah Arlesa Lesa Miller was born 12 December 1897 in Quebec, Transylvania Co., NC, and was christened in Oak Grove, Transylvania Co., NC.She died 10 March 1976 in Brevard, Transylvania Co., NC, and was buried in Oak Grove, Transylvania Co., NC.She married James Perry Dodgin, who was born 4 August 1896 and died 6 March 1924.James and Bulah had the following children:
Lillian Estelle Dodgin Opal Christine Dodgin Mary Jane Dodgin
Bulah also married Plum Loving, presumably her second husband.
