My grandmother, Ida Francis (Brannon)Stinson, was the daughter of Enoch and Mary Ann (Doag; Doegg?)Brannon.She was born Feb. 26, 1869, in Cedartown, GA.She died Mar.19, 1963, in Norman, OK.She married John Wiley Stinson feb. 14, 1886, in Alabama.They moved to Grayson Co., Texas, in 1900, and to Cotton Co., Okla. in 1911.In 1894, Polly wrote the following letter to her daughter, Ida F., after they had moved to Blount Co., AL.The old handwritten letter was transcribed as follows: Wateshouse, AlaJune 23, 1894 The JW Stinson Family Dear Son & Daughter, We received you welcome letter.Hope you all the same.I am glad you all have bought a place.Hope you will do well.Edmond have gone to Rome to try to sell the mules.Times is so dull.I don't expect he will succeed in selling.We have moved to Mr. Pools.Will try to farm a little.Have just heard from Will & Julia.They was well.Mattie is gone back to Rome to live.Sank(?) is getting 2 dollars per day.Mert(?) was still up last week when she wrote.We have garden a little.Peeks was well when I heard from them.I am glad Willie learned fast at school.Hope to see you all this summer.Julia sent me her two least children's pictures that are so sweet.I want you to have all of your children's pictures taken and sent to me.Morris is moving over the river to Trumlin.I will close.You must write soon as you get this & let me hear from you often.
