I'm just starting to get into the Doggetts while working on a niece's ancestry. Thanks to Jim Doggett's website and Harry Doggett's database on Ancestry.com I was able to quickly trace her line back to Suffolk. There I noticed that William Doggett (1599-1676) married Anne Langley (c. 1604 -) the daughter of Goeffrey Langley and Anne Carter. The Langley surname made my eyebrows jump. It's a Norman name. The Langleys came over with William in 1066. Has anyone tried to trace the ancestry of Goeffrey Langley? He might be an interesting gateway to a long, noble ancestry.
