Moriah,
Researched the family a bit when I was in NYC in '95 for my sister-in-law. I have found more of my notes since I posted to you, but I gave most to my niece. I have emailed her to see what she still has as she has moved twice since. I found an old letter from her uncle, James Donegan, who said, "One very nice memory that was triggered for me was the record of my grand-uncle Joseph, whom I met many years ago and remember as a very nice man. I hadn't thought of him in years." Last I spoke with him, James was a lawyer in NYC. According to the 1900 census in NYC, John & Kate were married c. 1885 & had 4 out of 5 children living. James told me that he was told that John Donegan immigrated from Mitchelstown, Co. Cork. The census says both John & Kate immigrated in 1880. John was a stableman. They were living on E. 63rd St. in Manhattan. Email me direct: < [email protected]>
