On the Geography of Ireland. Ten Kilometers south of Limerick city on route N20, between Rockhill and Charleville is the town of Ballyagran. In close proximity is Kilmalloc and Bruree. The town of Ballyagran consists of 3 Pubs today and likely only one Pub in 1900. It is farms today and then, There is a road in Ballyagran that has within 3 miles, the ancestralfarm of the Boyce's (current occupant :Richard Boyce) the Donegan's (current Farmer John Donegan lives across the road from his parents Jack and Josie Donegan) and the O'Sullivans (current farmers Pat and Willy). These families intermarried for many years, and when their children left for America, they congregated in Stratford, Conn. or Philadelphia.Thomas Boyce and Mary Donegan, living 3 miles apart in Ireland, met and married in Stratford, Conn. They are my grparents, and named in James Donegan's obit.I grew up in Bridgeport, Conn. I recall hearing the name "Mary Murphy Ahern" as a child, My first job was running the merry-go-round at the Ahern's Amusement Park in Lordship.
