I don't think that Alexander's daughter Ann married a Giles Travers b. ca 1709. Actually, was there such a man?
Anyway, compare the two transcripts above.The abstract says "... daughter Anne, grandson Giles Travers."But the fuller transcript says "... if he has no heirs to go to grandson. Giles Travers; son Robert;..."It looks like the grandson and Giles are two different persons.Do you or anyone on the forum have access to the actual will?
If we know what Alexander actually left to Giles, we might be able tell more.If he left just a token, then pehaps Giles was a friend, business associate, etc.But if he left a significant bequest, there may have been a familial relationship that needs to be explored.
