A. P. DONNELL, retired farmer, P. 0. Randolph, was born in Lisbon, Columbiana Co., Ohio, August 6, 1818, son of John and Maria Donnell, natives of Pennsylvania, but who removed to Ohio, settling first in Columbiana County, afterward in Portage County, where they remained until their death. The mother died April 26, 1846, the father December 17, 1863. Our subject was married February 11, 1841, to Harriet C. Dye, daughter of Frederick and Lovina Dye, who were natives of New York, remaining there until the latter's death, which occurred December 24, 1831, after which Frederick Dye came to Ohio and spent the balance of his life here, dying August 15, 1855. Harriet C. was born November 29, 1820, and died August 26, 1874. On July 5, 1875, our subject was married to Susan E. Rogers, who was born in Holmes County, Ohio, October 25, 1830, daughter of John and Elizabeth Spellman, Our subject is the father of seven children, six of whom are now living: Juliet, Sarah A., Francis M., Charles E., Edson and Carrietta. Clinton is deceased. Our subject and family live in Randolph Township. He worked in leather most of his life, but has been engaged in farming to some extent of late years.
