James Leo Donovan died at St. Mary hospital in Kankakee, June 9th from a ruptured appendix at the age of 12.
Funeral services were hele in the Church of the Assumption in Ashkum, Tuesday morning at 10 o'clock, conducted by Rev. Father James Kerrins. Burial was in St. Patrick's cemetery, Chatsworth. The casket was borne by LaVerne Tholen, Orville Peters, Sylvester Cleary, Joseph Walters, George Phillips and Durl Milligan.
He was a son of James and Agnes Donovan and was born near Chatsworth, February 5, 1928. The family had resided near Ashkum the past few years, where the boy had won many friends by his pleasing personality, who deeply regret his early death.
Besides the parents he is survived by twin sisters, Mary and Anna, another sister, Rose, and one brother, Joseph; his two grandmothers, Mrs. Anna Donovan, of Chatsworth and Mrs. Owen McCarthy, of Chenoa, and grandfather, Owen McCarthy, of Chenoa, and many cousins.
