Hi Donal,
I stumbled by this site accidentally, while trying to do some research on James Doolan, my Great Grandfather who was born in Kings County in 1849.
I didn't know the townland or parish that he came from and it has taken me a really long time to find it.Some weeks ago I found a family of Doolan's from the parish of Kilcormac in Co. Offaly and am having some research done with the Genealogical Society currently. It should be completed in about 6 to 8 weeks.
Looks like we are cousins too!I wasn't really expecting to find to much and am overwhelmed that we have so many relatives!
Anne very kindly emailed me a copy of the family tree. Hats off to Anne and Donal for the research.
How fantastic!
I see that your Dad is Frank Doolan.I met him very briefly years ago in the Burlington Hotel with my Mum, Evelyn Doolan
I have lots of information if you are interested and would be only to delighted to discuss.
While I live in Co. Meath now, I spent quite a few years in Drumcondra, Dublin. Mona Doolan was the youngest sister of Daniel Joseph. I spent quite a bit of time with her growing up as my Mum Evelyn lived with her for some years. My daughter Mona is named after her.
I look forward to caching up with you!
With very best wishes,
Romaine
