My Great Great Great Grandfather, Bernard Dornan was born in Antrim c.1804. The parrish was Arclenis(?) and the town was Glenarn(?). According to records I have found, he was a weaver. Around 1924 he joined the British Army for 24 years until he was discharged in 1949. He was married to a woman named Mary Ann McMullen in Belfast, County Down (by Bishop Crowley) around 1827. After his discharge, he imigrated to Canada and ended up at Fort Molden in Amherstburg, Ontario. He served 3 years in the Civil War under the alias William Dowling, where he fathered a son (John) with a woman whom I only know as Elizabeth. If any of this sounds familiar, please feel free to contact me.
Thanks,
Sean
