John married Margaret Whitmore on June 13, 1816 in Muhlenberg County, Kentucky, Muhlenberg County Marriage Book 1;Kentucky Marriage Records--Muhlenburg County, 1799-1836, from the Register of the Kentucky Historical Society, Genealogical Pub. Co., 1982, pg. 588;date of marriage given as June 12, 1815 in application for pension benefits for service in War of 1812.
Margaret was the daughter of John Whitmer and wife, Catherine.
In 1843 application was made for disability benefits;at that time he was living in Greene County, Illinois.John Dossett died about 1892 in Green County, Illinois, survived by his wife.INDEX TO WAR OF 1812 PENSION FILES, transcribed by Virgil D.
