I would like to find who Susan's parents were. I do have some clues:
>Susan Spencer Dotson, born 1808, Lee County, Virginia.
>Simon Dotson, born 1761, died 1849, Patrick Co., VA., spouse Phoebe
Hollandsworth, was in Lee County ca.1803-1820. Susan is not found in any
list of Simon Dotson's children.
>Did a female Spencer marry a Dotson male?
> Susan married Brooks Randolph born 1808,Lee County, VA.,son of Willoughby
and Frances Thornton Randolph, Lee County, VA.
>Susan Spencer Dotson Randolph and Brooks Randolph had five daughters and two sons. Sons were, Simon Peter Randolph (1835-1909), born Logan County, IL., and Hiram Randolph (1846-1846), Logan County IL.
> Susan died 1846, Logan County, IL.
> Brooks Randolph died 1847, Logan County, IL.
> Hiram Dotson was said to have been born 1803, Lee County, Virginia. Was he brother, cousin, etc., to Susan Spencer Dotson?
> Hiram, born 1803 married Nancy Ann Randolph, daughter of William Randolph, an older brother of Brooks Randolph.
>In 1830 a group including the Randolph's and Dotson's left Lee County, VA.,
Including Hiram Dotson and Susan Spencer Dotson Randolph, for Illinois, mainly Logan, Sangamon and DeWitt counties.
> When Simon Peter Randolph was orphaned in 1847, he lived with Milla Dotson, born 1822 Loudoun, Co., Va., and her husband James Bell, in Sangamon County, IL. How was Milla Dotson related to Simon Peter Randolph?
> Simon Peter Randolph married Catherine Breckenridge of Sangamon County, IL.
>Because Susan and Brooks Randolph named their only two sons, Simon Peter Randolph and Hiram Randolph, this would seem to indicate that Susan Spencer Dotson Randolph was a member of the Simon Dotson (1761-1849)
family. I have never found anything to indicate she was a daughter of Simon Dotson.
Susan Spencer Dotson Randolph is in my direct line of ancestors and I would love to find who her parents were.
