We have have just had a book published here in Lewis County, Kentucky, and certain questons have arisen regarding the Dotterer family connection here. William C. Birely came here around the time of the Civil War and is featured prominently in the book. He is closely related to the Delapane Family of Baltimore, Maryland. He left no descendants and is buried in Woodland Cemtery in Vanceburg, here in Lewis County. He was a miller (amongst other commercial endeavors) and was probably the wealthiest man here when he died. Since the book was published, we have heard from someone asking about a possible conenction to the Dotterer family line (specifically Lemuel Dotterer, also from Maryland), who apparently came to Lewis County and then returned to Maryland. He named his son Bruce Birely and our correspondent has letters. Any information will be appreciated.
