Hi Allan, I just noticed today that you made it onto our free yahoo discussion site for the Doughty-Doty ydna project: http://groups.yahoo.com/group/ourdoughtyfamily/http://groups.yahoo.com/group/ourdoughtyfamily/ That is great and i will get back later to post a welcome, but i ran across your post here and thought i would reply.
You ask How do I get to use this DNA project ?
Many ways it is a great thing to have going for the Doughty and Doty folks........ We so far have 7 unrelated Doughty/Doty clans that have male members that have done their ydna sample. When a descendant gets his sample results those will be the same as for his son on into the future and for any member of his past line all the way back to the old country........ so you can see this project is very helpful for those wanting to see what other Doughty/Doty they match up with, and it can help any of these lines track their line on back further than they have it now. Also it helps folks that may have questions about them really being in a certain Doughty/Doty line like their or past research says......... Records can mislead or their could have been an adoption or whatever...... But ydna results dont mislead or bring forth misinformation... the results are hard facts .
There are thousands of these ydna surname projects. It is the way to go and it is great that now the Doughty/Doty clans have a first class DNA Project........ We are glade you joined us and hope any Doughty/Doty seeing this will join - Male or female, anyone that has a Doughty/Doty in their line that is interested.... One does have to be a male directly in a Doughty/Doty line however to do the ydna sample. Our website is atwww.ourdoughtyfamily.com ............... ThanksJoe Doughty
