I have come across some more information I am very excited about.First, I believe that our Annie Gallagher, the mother of Nancy and James Dow, is the daughter of Frank and Nancy McGee Gallagher.Frank died in 1823 and Nancy married Michael Somers/Summers.
I have been told Anne Gallagher was born in Parish of Kent, New Brunswick in 1821.Another researcher e-mailed me this info:In the Woodstock Anglican Church baptismal records in the Andover, NB library is this information:Known issue:John Summers baptized Sept. 9, 1826, James Summers baptized Sept. 9, 1826, Anne Summers baptized Sept. 9, 1826, Nicholas Summers born Feb.9, 1829 baptized June 17, 1840.Woodstock & Northampton Anglican Church Baptisms #509.Note, is is assumed the above mentioned John Summers and Anne Summers were children of Nancy McGee Gallagher and her first husband. It appears the church made a recording error by naming the children Summers.Throughout their lives, they maintained their surname of Gallagher."
I still don't know anything about Henry Dow.I've been told that on a New Brunswick census (1850 or 51), Anne is listed with her husband James McNeal/Neil and a Nancy Dow age 14.
On the 1850 Census of Aroostook County, Maine, Eaton Grant (http://www.upperstjohn.com/1850/eaton.htm) the first family listed is:James Shay 36 farmer birthplace Ireland, Elizabeth Shay 23 birthplace NB (maiden name is Somers) James Dow 11 birthplace NB, Michael Sommers 60 laborer birthplace Ireland, Nancy Sommers 64 birthplace Ireland (maiden name is McGee; previous husband was Gallagher).
And on the 1860 Census - Eaton Plantation - Fort Fairfield:Thomas and Nancy Dow Walton living in Eaton Plantation with a William McNeil 13 years old, born in NB; James Dow 20 years old farm laborer born in NB.
I hope you have fun with this! Now to continue the search for Henry.
