Mary Ann Dow, of Prospect,MaineMarried Arthur Dutch Jr, 1832 in Prospect, ME.
Her parents are listed as Mary J Black and James Dow of Searsport, ME.
The Dutch family contains mariners, 'coasters' and ship builders.
I am wondering if there is a connection between James and daug Mary Dow, to the widow, Margaret (Cole) Dow and/or her sons Daniel and Thomas Dow. After the death of her husband, Margaret Dow, of Hampton, NH, she married Richard Kemball/Kimball.
The will of Richard Kimball of Ipwich, written 3/16/1674/5,was witnessed by Moses Pengry and his son Aaron Pengry Sr, both of whom are my direct ancestors.
Thus it is higly likely that these families are related in some way.A DUTCH married a PENGRY
MARY KIMBALL married ROBERT DUTCH, 'of Ipswich'
After Ursula Scott Kimbell died, Richard married the Widow Margaret (Cole) Dow of Hampton. At her death, administration was granted to HER sons DANIEL and THOMAS DOW. MARY ANN DOW, of Prospect, ME,married ARTHUR DUTCH JR, 1832 in Prospect, ME.Her parents were JAMES DOW and MARY J BLACK of Searsport ME.Likely connection here. Richard Kimball's will was witnessed by MOSES PENGRY SR and his son AARON PENGRY, MY DIRECT ANCESTORS.THIS PUTS THEM IN IPSWICH on 3 March 1674/5.My Pengry line also includes the DAVIS family, on which I am at a brick wall.I am stuck at HOSEA FESSENDEN DAVIS who married HULDA PENGRY IN 1854 at Boxborough, MA.
My theoryis that Hosea Davis is the son of William Davis Jr and Eunice C Chaffin. And his parents are Rebecca (unk) and William Davis Sr, son of Deacon Joshua Davis and Hannah Jaquith.
Undoubtably these families criss-crossed for generations.Lookslike I have more leads to follow when I go to NARA next week.Thank you so much.
