Hi Colm,
ofEdward Dowdall (abt 1600 - Nov 1665) of Monkstown, County Meath was probably Amy Dowd (father John?).My mother was a Dowdall so I have done extensive research on the Dowdall family. I have a copy of John Dowd's (Dublin) will from 1640 but it doesn't not mention Amy, so I am not certain at this point if it is the same family. What is interesting is that John had a brother Francis and there is a Francis mentioned in 1628 in Dublin ina legal document.
I have been unaware of Amy's maiden name until today while reviewing Edward Dowdall's will from 1665.Are you aware of any Dowdalls in your family?
Beannachtai,
Margaret Kristich
