My hometown is Draffin, in South Eastern KY. I've always wondered how it got it's name. There was no one named Draffin that lived there when I did nor have I ever heard of any family named Draffin from surrounding areas or seen any gravestones with the name. Nothing in census records either that I remember seeing. No one I've ever asked knew how it got it's name. I've always wondered if someone having something to do with the railroad or mail delivery had something to do with naming it. Surely they didn't just pull it out of a hat. Anyone ever heard of it or know of a family that may have been in the area in the 1800s it may have been named after or another city it may have been named after? Just one of those things I've always been curious about, might be an interesting story.
