Well, cousins I am still waiting to hear if my papers are accepted by the DAR. I have seen ALL the cen. rec. out there, and sent off for all the appropriate marriages etc. It took me forever and if they don't accept the papers I will cry. I did have a hole in documentation and used Toni'sto tie in.Unfortunately as you know we have separate way back there. There were several little tid- bits that I found in my quest through Iowa cen rec. One was that Charles Dray and Sarah Elizabeth McCrady were divorced. She was living with a daughter on some of the later cen. Found an obit. which stated that Charles was the father of 13 children,I am not sure these were all with Sarah. Toni, there are also a few errors with some of your dates from Charles and Sarah's family on down. This is not a surprise since you do not decend from them ,Would you like me to send the cen. takers dates to you? I am sure these new dates are correct as I have Seen All The cen!!! Even State ones.Sad news to report, my uncle Charlie Robinson passed away on May 13 from liver cancer. This is the last of Bertha's children. Now, Jack, how much do you have on the McCrady's??? I have been looking into them lately, and some one has Sarah Elizabeth tied to a Elizabeth Walker on the LDS site. We know her mother is Mary Streets. I found Sarah's brother Alex on the Columbiana Co, Ohio cen. in 1850. He is the W.A. McCrady that is buried in Farmington Cem in 1893 at the age of 60. He was also a union solider and a member of the Mason's it appears. And how do we know that Sarah's dad is the same Alex McCready that married Catherine Dray??? I am not saying it is incorrect, just wondering how we know. I got the marriage rec. as well as several of William Dray's. The reason I am asking as there appears to be more than 1 Alex McCrady, and I want to be sure I am on the right track. Do you know the only other early Drays in Iowa was a family from France?I found them in the cen. too.
