Hazle Lillian Drennan Griffin
GRIFFIN, , HAZLE LILLIAN DRENNAN Passed away peacefully at home on June 17, 2005. She was born March 18, 1926 in Hazelgreen, Missouri to George Lilburn and Nora Effie Drennan; she was one of nine children. After graduating from Lebanon High School in 1943, Hazle had several jobs including Ashenhurst's clothing store in Lebanon, Missouri, North American Aviation in Kansas City, Kansas, and Fort Leonard Wood in Waynesville, Missouri. While at Fort Leonard Wood, she met Bob Griffin of Dallas, Texas. The couple married on August 16, 1955. Bob coached and taught at Woodrow Wilson High School and Hazle worked at Sun Oil until starting a family in 1958. Bob became a full-time scout for the Cowboys in 1967 and consequently traveled quite a bit. Hazle maintained the household, supported the girls' activities and still found time to enjoy her own interests. Hazle was a devoted wife, mother, sister, daughter, and friend. She was greatly loved, and is immeasurably missed. Hazle was preceded in death by her parents George Lilburn Drennan and Nora Effie Drennan; brothers Fred Edward Drennan and Burlyn Jackson Drennan, and sister Sharon Kay Drennan. She is survived by her husband of 49 years, Bob Griffin, two daughters Sandra Griffin of Garland, Texas and Ginger Griffin of Fort Worth, Texas; four sisters Geneva Harris of Lebanon, Missouri, Lorean Chalfant and husband Owen of Panama City, Florida, Marilyn Aaronhalt and husband Ron of Mt. Vernon, Missouri, and Beverly Michener, and husband Duane of Cottage Grove, Minnesota; one brother Bob and wife Sandra of Lebanon, Missouri, fifteen nieces, nephews and their families, and numerous friends. A memorial service will be held at 11:30 am on Monday, June 27, 2005 at the Restland Wildwood Chapel at Restland Memorial Park in Dallas, Texas.
