To tell you about my Dennen side I guess I could start with Thomas born in 1820.My uncle Thomas (his grandson) told me he died in a brush fire somewhere in Fayette co. WV when a log (big log) rolled over him.I think it was near McDunn or Elkridge outside of Montgomery WV.McDunn is up Armstrong Creek off of US 61.I think he may even be buried in that area.Fredrick and my grandmother lived at Powellton WV where he had a store and other buisnesses. Powellton is near McDunn and Montgomery. My aunt still owns the second house in Powellton but lives elsewhere. The original house there was razed in the early 1980's.I don't know who got all of the family photo's and such but I have copies of some.Fredrick was quite older than my grandmother and was a traveling salesman before marrying her.I was told he (Fredrick) came from Drennen in Nicholas co. WV but when they moved I am not sure. I can remember something about a water well at Drennen that is just off the main road but why it is important I can't remember.Fredrick and his brother Eugene and some other Drennens are buried at London just south of Montgomery on US 60 in Kanawha co. WV.
While my Drennen line is important to me I have not had much time to research it and as a result do not have much information recorded.I seem to spend more time trying to break a brickwall on my Crockett side than anything else.
