Dear Anne,
The Drinkwater sisters figure prominently in the hundred history of The Hillside School.
Hillside School was founded as a farm school in 1901 by Miss Charlotte Drinkwater and her sister, Mrs. Mary Drinkwater Warren, on a farm near the western boundary of Greenwich, Massachusetts. The school was created to serve as a home and an educational institution for boys from Massachusetts and was formally chartered in 1907.
When the original site was flooded in 1927, to create the Quabbin Reservoir, Hillside relocated to 320 acres of rural farm land in Marlborough, Massachusetts; its current location.
Charlotte V. Drinkwater was born March 27, 1841.
Mary Drinkwater Warren was born in 1839.
If you have information about Charlotte or Mary, I would be interested for the school history.
