Published: Wednesday, February 25, 2009 Dorothy S. (Ducharme) Lyon, 1932-2009 Dorothy S. (Ducharme) Lyon, 76, of Nashua passed away peacefully Monday, February 23, 2009 at Greenbriar Terrace Healthcare under hospice care after a long battle with cancer.
Born in Goffstown on May 11, 1932, she was the daughter of the late Leo and Laura H. (Houle) Ducharme of Hudson. Dorothy was educated in Hudson public schools.
Dorothy retired in 1994 from Brookside Hospital in Nashua. She had been previously employed by Bemis Corp. and J.F. McElwain Shoe Company.
She enjoyed aiding her friends and family when in need and walking regularly with her friends. She was also an avid fan of the Boston Red Sox. (Go Papi!)
Her surviving family members are four daughters, Mary Ann Lyon of Nashua, Anna Marie L. Lyon and her significant other Richard Lundstedt of Marlborough, MA, Linda J. Moriarty and her significant other Stephen Marlar of Nashua, and Karen D. Couturier and her husband Mark of Francestown; seven grandchildren, Gion Levigne, Joanne Levigne, Michael Moriarty, Heather Couturier, all of Nashua, and Lauren Couturier, Mark Jameson Couturier and Eric Couturier, all of Francestown; two great-granddaughters, Eternity Levigne and Alexus Brown, both of Nashua; two sisters, Elaine Corriveau and Pauline McAlister (wife of the late James McAlister Sr.), both of Nashua; one brother, Arthur Ducharme of Nashua; and many nieces, nephews and good friends.
She was predeceased by two brothers, Robert Ducharme of Amarillo, TX and Richard Ducharme of Nashua.
A memorial service will be held Saturday at 9:30 a.m. at Saint Francis Xavier Cemetery, 32 Pine Hill Ave., Nashua.
