I don't have any information on your ancestors, but I can help you a little with general Acadian information.
The Acadians were mainly people of French descent who settled in what is now Nova Scotia and PEI in Canada. In the 1750s, the English deported many of the Acadians. Some drowned when several of the ships sank.Others were sent to England, France, the American Colonies, and several islands in the Caribbean. Some families escaped the deportation. These families either stayed in Acadia or traveled to Quebec, where there were other French-speaking people.Of these, some ventured as far south as the Michigan and Ohio area.
Of the Acadians that were deported, many eventually arrived in Louisiana. Many of the Acadians who landed in the American colonies escaped to Louisiana. Also, after several decades, France offered to send any of the Acadians who had been deported there to Louisiana. This can make it a little confusing in later years -- a record will say that a certain person was born in France and emigrated to Louisiana, but you can find out later that that individual was actually of Acadian descent, and his parents had been deported to France just before he was born.
If you want to know more detail about the Acadians, I'd recommend checking out Lucie Leblanc's "Acadian and French Canadian Ancestral Home" website.
