I'm a descendent of Abraham Dugas and Marguerite Doucet also, and I wanted to THANK YOU for your updated information. My maternal Grandmother was Adeline Bernadette Dugas.
You may not have noticed that there is a small discrepency in Marguerite Louise Doucent's birth information, as follows:
1.In the "Re: Abraham Dugas b.1616, s/o Abraham & Margueritte Caronne 2 page summary dated March 19, 2004 at 08:45:07, on Page 2 under #2) in the last paragraph it states:2) Marguerite Louise Doucet b. 1634 Port Royal Acadia, m. 1645 Port Royal, Acadia, Abraham Dugas, b. 1616 Toulouse, Haute-Garonne, France, s/o Abraham and Margurite Caronne.
"If" that info. is correct regarding her birth date then she would have only been 11 years old when she married Abraham.
I'm thinking your summary entitled,"Abraham Dugas b. Toulouse or Brittany, France" dated March 19, 2004 at 08:20:49, last paragraph of 1st page is more accurate.
2) Abraham Dugas was b. abt. 1616 in Toulouse, or Brittany France. He d. abt. 1698 in Port Royal, Acadie, m. abt. 1647 in Port Royal, Acadie, Marguerite Louise Doucet, d/o Germain (LaVerdure), France.Marguerite was b. abt. 1625 in France, d. Aft. 1686 in Port Royal, Acadie.
I realize alot of the women married young in those days but I doubt that 11 yrs. old was common, so it sounds more realistic to me that she was born 1625 which would have made her around 20 yrs. old at marriage. What do you think?
You may have already noticed the above.Again,THANK YOUFOR ALL YOUR INPUT.My information was similar but not near as detailed as yours and it had been passed on to me years ago by an unknown distant relative with no references or verification.
DO ANY OF YOU YOU KNOW THE CORRECT ORDER OF ABRAHAM'S AND MARGUERITE'S DESCENDENTS THAT FOLLOW?I have a list, but it appears that there may be a generation or two missing as the dates just don't add up.Your response is more then appreciated.
