You guys are scaring me. The pronunciation for Duignan is Diegnan. As a Yank who had the pleasure of spending my high school years in Dublin, Ireland, Dubliners tend to mispronounce it Degnan. I was lucky enough to go to school with a fellow Deignan and a Duignan, who was not related, and we all pronounced it Diegnan. Furthermore at this time, which was the 1970's, there was a well know Irish political reporter on the Irish TV station , RTE, named Sean Duignan, who pronounced it Diegnan. I give you points for the Dooignan pronunciation!! My favorite is the French pronunciation!! Keep up the good work correcting people who would besmirch our good name.
