My name is Pete Waller and I am a 2nd Great Grandson of David Dunham, who married Mary Doan, and I believe that they lived in the Haldimand County area.
My Great Grandmother, Mabel May Dunham was born August 18, 1883 in Stoney Creek, Ont and lived most of her life in Dunnville, Ontario, married to Daniel Ward.
Together, David & Mary had 7 children that I am aware of:
Mabel May (b: Aug 18/1883 Stoney Creek, Ont, d: May 17/1962 Dunnville, Ont) Maude Minerva (b: 1879) Maggie Mary Martha Carrie
Can't explain "why" they got away from naming their 7th daughter (Carrie) with a name beginning with "M"?
I would sincerely like to hear from reseachers that are related to this line of Dunhams and could provide me with anymore direction on this branch of my family tree? Can you tell me what part of Europe that they came from? Were they part of the UEL that were forced to leave the USA during the American Revolution, immigrating to Canada?
I'd be more than happy to share anything I have gathered to this point with you. I look forward to hearing from you.
