Hi Mac:
About 10 years ago I was researching my LONGHURST line from Ockley, Surrey, and I found two Census entries (1851/61) for Thomas LONGHURST and his wife "Phillis". Her birthplace was difficult to read but the consensus was that "Silverton, Northampton, was really Silverstone.
I tried every conceivable permutation of names and places over the years to try and locate "Phillis", to no avail. Last week I put in their first names on the "new" Familysearch (IGI), and lo and behold I got this marriage:
Thomas LANGHURST = Phillis DUNCKLEY 23 June 1818
Whittlebury, Northants.
According to the Censuses she was born about 1800/1801 timeframe. That sort of fits with her marriage date. I have no idea how Thomas LONGHURST came to be in Whittlebury, assuming I have the 'right' couple.
Perhaps your DUNKLEY research could shed some further light on Phillis and her parents, or any other info that you think might help confirm my findings. I look forward to hearing from you.
